THE Senate has reacted to news of the demolition of a factional secretariat of the All Progressive Congress in Kaduna State.
Report surfaced early Tuesday (20/02/2018) that the secretariat belonging to the Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi led faction was demolished.
The property, a one-storey building on 11B Sambo Road, was pulled down amidst tight security at about 5am, according to PUNCH.
Reports fingered the State Governor, Nasir El-rufai.
But during plenary at the Senate, Senator Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central) draw the attention of the upper legislative chamber to the incident.
Sani described the governor’s action as “an affliction on the people of Kaduna State.”
The chamber thereafter mandated the governor to either provide a replacement for the secretariat or compensate Senator Hunkuyi (Kaduna-North) who is said to own the building.
This is happening barely two days after the faction suspended the governor on grounds of anti-party activities.
HEADLINE is yet to get the governor’s reaction to the incident as at press time.
