Ekiti 2018: Fayose’s Candidate, Olusola Emerges PDP Governorship Aspirant

KOLAPO Olusola, incumbent deputy governor of Ekiti state, has won the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the July 14 governorship election.

Olusola is the preferred aspirant of Ayodele Fayose, governor of the state.

He won with over 1000 votes out of the total 1968 votes cast even though the result is yet to be officially declared.

This was also confirmed by Fayose’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, who announced Olusola’s emergence in his facebook timeline.

The exercise has been peaceful since 10am when it started with voting ending at 5:05pm.

The committee chaired by Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta state, gave the aspirants the opportunity to comment about the poll before collation began.

Both aspirants expressed satisfaction with the exercise.

There was tension in the hall when the ballot papers were sorted in two different baskets and the difference between the two aspirants appeared insignificant.

As agents had their eyes fixed on the baskets, supporters moved from one end of the hall to the other.
