FORMER governor of Kano State and senator representing Kano central senatorial district, has suspended his visit to the state.
Both Kwankwaso and Umar Ganduje – the incumbent governor – who have been in disagreement had fixed their rallies for Tuesday.
Kwankwaso was advised by the police to dump his planned visit but he vowed to go ahead with his trip.
Speaking on Monday, the lawmaker through his aide, Rabi’u Sulaiman Bchi, announced the cancellation.
He stated this while addressing journalists at the Kwankwasiyya House, Luggard Avenue, Kano.
He said it was due to series of consultations.
“I have shelved my visit to Kano to avoid political clash in the state following series of advice I have received from well-meaning Nigerians home and abroad.
“In view of this and after lengthy consultations with well-meaning Nigerians home and abroad, we painfully have decided to shelve the scheduled visit at the moment,” he said.
