Igbo Presidency: Group Begins Talks With Ohaneze, AREWA, MOSOP, OPC

A pressure group, under the auspices of Movement for the Actualization of Igbo Presidency, has been floated in the South East with its headquarters in Anambra State.

Arising from a meeting in Nnewi, on Thursday, founder of the movement, Chief Kingsley Nzomiwu (Obiukwu Ozubulu) announced that it was working in collaboration with socio cultural organizations like Ohaneze Ndigbo, Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP), Odua Peoples Congress (OPC), Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and other relevant bodies to have a national spread and outlook so as to achieve Igbo presidency by 2023 -without fail”

Chief Nzomiwu, who insisted that Igbo presidency would be non negotiable in 2023, said the movement was set up to mobilise over 20 million Nigerians before the end of 2017 through its well-fashioned networking.

Some other strategies, he explained, would be to reach out to various clubs at higher institutions across Nigeria including Kegites Clubs, Reggae Movements, christian associations and market unions.

Nzomiwu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Anambra State said: -Our mission is to make sure that an Igbo man becomes president of this nation come 2023 when the North must have finished their slot. We will not tamper with President Muhammadu Buhari- second tenure so that the North or any other geopolitical zone will have no reason not to support us.

-We have such well qualified Igbo like the former Governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator Ken Nnamani, former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, Senator Pius Anyim Pius, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Governor Rochas Okorocha and a whole lot of others who can pilot the affairs of this country comfortably well. So, there is no reason to deny the Igbo the opportunity when that time comes and we have to start in time,” Chief Nzomiwu said.

He, however, explained that any Igbo man with presidential ambition had to express it through the APC,  “a party with true national outlook with the potentials to produce leaders at the centre”

He said the movement was in support of the APC government as he described President Buhari as a sincere leader who meant well for Nigeria -it is just that many Nigerians do not understand him because of tribal sentiments”

He appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the Buhari administration and give “it the necessary support not minding the ongoing economic recession”

Nzomiwu said that those who were agitating for Biafra were only doing so because of marginalization, saying that it would come to an end if the federal government could provide the needed infrastructure especially roads in the South East and other necessary federal presence to douse the agitation and ambition to secede and also provide the enabling environment for an Igbo man to become a president of this country.

On Anambra 2017 governorship election, he said there were many qualified aspirants for the governorship seat but would only be achieved through the APC party platform.
