Ekiti 2018: What Buhari Should Do Rather Than Congratulate Fayemi — Fayose

AYODELE Fayose, incumbent governor of Ekiti State has told President Muhammadu Buhari what he should do rather than congratulate Kayode Fayemi on his emergence as the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the July 14 gubernatorial race in the state.

Mr Fayemi, a serving minister and former governor of the state, won the APC primary election on Saturday, thereby emerging the party’s candidate for the governorship election.

Mr Fayose had while reacting to Fayemi’s emergence urged him not to rejoice yet, describing his victory as pyrrhic.

The governor had also thanked members of the APC for electing the minister, which according to him, will suffer worst defeat than he did in 2014.

Congratulating his minister in a series of tweets posted on his verified Twitter handle, the President expressed confidence that the party candidate’s “track record as a reformist — with a passion for education, health and welfare — will stand him in good stead in the elections.”

On what Mr Buhari should do rather than congratulate his minister, Fayose suggested to the president to reserve Fayemi’s ministerial slot for the APC candidate.

He said Fayemi will suffer a major defeat in the forth coming election.

Fayose stated this on Monday through his Twitter handle.

“President Buhari congratulating Fayemi on his emergence as APC candidate is like day-dreaming.He will surfer another major defeat on July 14.

“Rather than congratulating him,the President should reserve his seat at the FEC because this desperation to be Ekiti gov is dead on arrival,” Fayose said.

Olusola is the preferred aspirant of Ayodele Fayose, governor of the state.
