Benue: Herdsmen Returns Hack 11 To Dead In Fresh Attack


SUSPECTED herdsmen has reportedly returned and has hacked down 11 persons leaving several others injured in Tse Akombo village in Mbaniage District of Logo Local Government Area of Benue State on Friday night.

On new year day, over 60 people were killed in Logo and Guma local government areas.

The two areas are recently the hotbeds of herdsmen- attacks.

The attacks on the communities has seen many homes razed while several persons remain unaccounted for, just as thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes.

Governor Samuel Ortom, confirming the recent killing through his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase yesterday evening lamented that the situation was getting out of hands and therefore called on the federal government to rise up and address it.

The state governor confirmed 11 persons killed, while the state police command through its Public Relations Officer (PRO) ASP Moses Yamu, confirmed that 10 corpses had been so far recovered from the village following the attack.
